Membrane structure landscape The manufacturer introduces that the membrane material used in membrane structure buildings is a kind of membrane material with good strength and flexibility, which is woven from fiber into fabric base material, and processed and fixed with resin as coating material on both sides of the base material. The fabric base material in the center is divided into polyester fiber and glass fiber, The resins used as coating materials include polyvinyl chloride resin (PVC) and polytetrafluoroethylene resin (PTFE). In terms of mechanics, the fabric substrate and coating materials have the following functional properties respectively.
Fabric substrate - tensile strength, tear resistance, heat resistance, durability, fire resistance.
Coating materials - weather resistance, antifouling, processability, water resistance, product resistance, light transmittance.
Selection of membrane materials:
The membrane materials used for building membrane structures can be roughly divided into PVC membrane and PTEF membrane according to different coating materials. The correct selection of membrane materials shall be determined by taking into account the scale, use, form, service life, budget and other comprehensive factors of the building.
PVC Coated Polyester
PVC film is cheaper than PTFE film in material and processing, and has the advantages of soft material and easy construction. However, it is inferior to PTFE film in strength, durability, fire resistance and other properties. PVC membrane material is made of polyester fiber fabric and PVC coating (PVC). Generally, the membrane material for building is coated with several microns of acrylic resin on the surface treatment of PVC coating material to improve the antifouling performance. However, it will change color, stain and deteriorate after several years. The service life of general PVC film varies from 5 to 8 years depending on the service environment. In order to improve the weather resistance of PVC membrane, in recent years, fluorocarbon resin has been developed to coat the surface treatment of PVC coating materials to improve its weather resistance and antifouling properties.
PVDF
PVDF is the abbreviation of polyvinylidene fluoride. The material with PVDF resin coating on the surface of PVC film is called PVDF film. Compared with ordinary PVC membrane, PVDF membrane has a service life of about 7 to 10 years.
PTFE Coated Fiberglass
PTFE film is made of superfine glass fiber fabric coated with polytetrafluoroethylene resin. The big feature of PTFE film is its high durability, fire resistance and stain resistance. However, compared with PVC membrane, PTFE membrane has high material cost and processing cost, and low flexibility. In order to avoid glass fiber breaking in construction, special fixture and construction technology are required.
Durability: PTFE of the coating material is very stable to acid, alkali and other chemicals and ultraviolet rays, and is not easy to change color or crack. After long-term use, glass fiber will not cause strength deterioration or tension reduction. The film is generally white in color, with high light transmittance and durability of more than 25 years.
Antifouling: because the coating material is polytetrafluoroethylene resin, the surface friction coefficient is low, so it is not easy to be polluted, and can be washed by rain.
Fire resistance: PTFE film conforms to the characteristics of fire resistance materials tested in all countries, and can replace other roof materials for the same purpose.
